scare ACTOR training AGENDA

Scare actor and manager classes are taught in-person at your location.

Welcome, Intros and Warmups

No lengthy speeches or Powerpoints. We dive right into activities to get actors energized and engaged. 

Improv

Actors will learn improv techniques and practical tips to benefit their interactions and comebacks with guests.

Dialogue

Vocal warmups, breathing exercises, effective dialogue as well as phrases to avoid are covered extensively in these exercises.

Movement

This section covers iconic character movements, getting up close, collaborating with fellow actors, isolating guests and escaping in character.

Tactics

Actors learn how to recognize when guests are entering their spots, being in character before guests enter their spot, scaring the entire group, eavesdropping on guests' names, and breaking up conga lines. 

Characters

An intense focus on staying in character, creating believable characters, practicing more collaboration, and recognizing the 6 standard actor actions.

Miscellaneous

Actors learn additional techniques like hiding in plain sight, identifying the 13 types of guests, entertaining younger kids, comparing and contrasting haunt acting with other types of acting, and knowing details about their haunt.

Line Acting

Haunters are shown the unique requirements to be a line actor compared to actors in fixed spots.

Miscellaneous II

Actors will learn a second collection of important tasks and techniques including using other languages, handling special events, how to recover when it all goes wrong and proper radio procedures.

MANAGER training AGENDA

Welcome, Intros and Warmups

Exercises and energy are the focus here. Not boring lectures.

Haunt Info, Auditions and Safety

Knowing their own haunt, how to effectively run auditions and keep both actors and guests safe are the focus of this section.

Being an Effective Haunt Manager

We cover good and bad leadership examples, best practices and conducting pre and post show briefings.

Coaching, Drama and Complaints

Coaching and managing actors during the show, dealing with haunt drama and discipline issues, as well as handling customer complaints are all detailed here.

Reviews and Awards

This section delves into the importance of reading customer reviews as well as why delivering awards is essential to recognizing your people.

Radios, Costumes and Equipment

The last section goes into proper radio procedures and lots of tips for costumes and equipment.
